Pizza Hut cares about our community and always actively engages with charitable organizations in helping people in need.
1) Pizza Card Points Rewards Donation
Beneficiaries: Mindset/St. James’ Settlement People’s Food Bank
For every $5 purchase at any Pizza Hut restaurant, takeaway or delivery service, the customer could earn 1 Pizza Card Points Rewards. However, the customer was encouraged to donate the points, a minimum of 50 points, in exchange of $5 to the beneficiaries.
2) Regular Donation
Beneficiaries: Mindset/World Food Programme (WFP)
Each year Pizza Hut would conceive different fundraising programmes for Mindset/World Food Programme and invite its customers to participate, so that while enjoying delicious meals they can join hands to help the needy.
Charitable organizations
Mindset – a Hong Kong registered charity and was established by Jardine Matheson Group in 2002. It aims to raise awareness and concern for the people suffering from mental illnesses and to provide assistance for the individuals and their families who are in need of help.
St James’ Settlement People’s Food Bank – a registered local charity organization which started the People’s Canteen Service since December 2003. Its objective is to offer free food assistance, as well as other services such as food market and nutrition programme to help the needs of the disadvantaged people.
United Nations’ World Food Programme – the largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. Each year, on average, WFP feeds more than 90 million people in more than 70 countries.
3) Participate in Charity Programmes
As a member of Jardine Matheson & Co. Ltd., Pizza Hut always takes pleasure to participate in various charity programmes and help the needy.
4) Employment of Physically Challenged Employees
Apart from fulfilling our share of corporate social responsibility, we also stress the importance of offering equal employment opportunities no matter race or people with physically challenged. Each year, Pizza Hut would employ around 100 physically challenged people and these positions ranging from being a team member to supervisory level. We have a long service physically challenged staff who has been with us for around 15 years.
